SINGLE PREMIERE - Treat You Better

The first single off of our forthcoming album "Bitter Better", out May 1 on Compass Records, produced by the one and only Sam Kassirer, is up today at American Songwriter. This is the first track on the album and where the album title was inspired. TWO NEW SINGLES - OUT NOW!!

Listen to "We Can" & "Wait With Me" on all streaming platforms.

I’ve never felt as creative as I did last winter when I spent six solid months in Belgium waiting for the spring touring season to arrive. I set out to write the next LCDC album, full of groove-centric pop songs that make you want to move your body and shake off the endless tension of daily life. I wrote over 40 songs, many of which were clearly headed in this new pop-forward direction, but some of which were reminiscent of the music I’d been working on for the past couple albums. Two of those songs didn’t fit the album but they felt so good, I wanted to share them. So here are two new lush singles that have that nostalgic LCDC string sound, a final bow before pirouetting into this new chapter.

new singles, merch and nov tour

Hello Friends!!

Thanks to each and everyone of you for staying in touch and supporting our music. We feel incredibly grateful to have dedicated fans who appreciate creativity, individuality and expression. We are surprise releasing two singles tomorrow, and you can be the first to hear them by checking out their premier on folkradio.co.uk.

We have a small request of you today…

Follow Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards on Spotify! It really helps.

When we get more listeners who click the follow button, you find out about our new music first, AND we have a better chance to get on playlists that help us connect with new listeners.

I know a lot of you are worried that listening on streaming services hurts bands like ours. Here’s the thing, if you love our music, we want you to have access to it. You are right to worry about how bands make a living. The best way to help the bands you love is to follow them online, listen to them often, and buy tickets to their shows (and bring friends!). If you have some extra dough to help out, buy their merch for yourself and your friends often!!

Speaking of which…we have new merch up in our store today!!

Northeast US Tour Dates

One thing you may or may not know about me is that HALLOWEEN IS MY FAVORITE holiday.

WHY, you ask?

Well, it’s a day that you can be anything you want to be. It’s the day we look up and around at each other to see what playful secret sides we’re here to share. We aim to entertain each other and ourselves. Mischief is accepted and encouraged. We leave our houses and ring our neighbors' doorbells to say hello and admire the time and creativity we’ve each put into our costumes.

Unfortunately, in my new home town, Ghent, Belgium, no one really celebrates Halloween. So I’m issuing a challenge to help me soak up as much of the season as I can. Come to any of our fall New England concerts dressed in a bit of Halloween flair and we will give you a brand new LCDC sticker. I’ll be posting some of my best Halloween costumes from over the years on my Instagram as we lead up to the tour so find us there @lauracortese.

Making music is the best, and making it for you in person at a show is even better. Invite your friends, share the music and see you out there…

love,
Laura
